A stack of bright yellow children's books titled 'The Three Billy Goats Fluff,' illustrated with cartoon goats and a green monster on the cover.

The Three Billy Goats Fluff

My Mum was a strong advocate for putting ourselves in another’s shoes. Finding a new perspective on Mr Troll’s bad temper and solving his problem with some fluffy boots has made this story a firm favourite.

I am incredibly lucky to have had three of my fairytales illustrated by the multi award winning Liz Pichon now best known for her Tom Gates series. You can see the humour she brings to every character.

The Three Billy Goats Fluff cross the bridge every day to eat the lush green grass on the other side. It makes their fleeces extra fluffy, important for Mother Goat’s knitting business. But Mr Troll has had enough of their constant trip trapping. Lack of sleep has made him grouchy and he threatens to eat the billy goats, imagining them in a variety of recipes! Can Mother come to the rescue with her knitting?

My Nanna always had some knitting on the go. Whenever a new baby was born she got out her knitting needles and made little boots… pink ones for the girls and blue ones for the boys. Memories of her inspired me to create Mother Billy Goat and her knitting business finding a perfect solution to Mr Troll’s problems!
